Key Stage Two Information

Key stage two covers years three to six in primary school. At Carreghofa we usually split the year groups into two classes, years 3 and 4 together and years five and six together. However, in some years, there may be a larger group of children and three classes may be necessary.

This year Mrs Hill will be teaching year three, Mrs Jones will be teaching years four and five and Mr Roberts will be teaching years five and six.

Each term our work is centred around a topic. We ensure that the topics encompass a broad range of interests so that every child can enjoy their learning, extend their knowledge and experience new things. We include a wide range of different activities, including lots of practical work and creative opportunities.  Each term we arrange a trip to enhance the children's learning and enjoyment of the topic.

We teach P.E. twice a week and the children have lots of opportunity to try a wide range of sports both indoors and outdoors. Your child will need a full P.E. kit in each day including socks and trainers. A water bottle is useful in school to ensure that your child is hydrated throughout the day. Fruit is available at 20p per day, or you can bring your own fruit, this keeps hunger pangs at bay until lunch time.

We now use HWB as our base for classwork and more detailed information. Your child will have their log in details on a sticker in their planner. Much of the homework and newsletters are available through HWB. Please log on to see all the information that is already on there for our current topic.
